Publication Ethics

The JTPG (Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian Gorontalo) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This ethical statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

JTPG is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (May and November) by the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment, Politeknik Gorontalo.

Editor Ethics

1. Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts fairly, objectively, transparently, and solely based on their academic merit.
2. Editors determine whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on reviewers' recommendations and the journal's editorial policies.
3. Editors ensure that the journal's author guidelines and publication policies are clear, transparent, and easily accessible.
4. Editors coordinate the peer-review process and ensure that every manuscript is reviewed by qualified reviewers.
5. Editors must not discriminate against authors on the basis of gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political belief, or institutional affiliation.
6. Editors and Editorial Board members must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information without the authors' permission.
7. Editors shall not use unpublished materials contained in submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal benefit.

Reviewer Ethics

1. Reviewers provide objective, constructive, and comprehensive evaluations to assist the Editorial Board in making publication decisions.
2. Reviewers are expected to complete their review within four (4) weeks.
3. Reviews must be conducted objectively, fairly, independently, and without personal bias.
4. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
5. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.

Author Ethics

1. Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original, scientifically sound, and free from plagiarism.
2. Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
3. All sources of information and references must be properly acknowledged and cited.
4. Authors should not fabricate, falsify, or manipulate research data.
5. Authors agree that the Editorial Board may edit the manuscript for language, formatting, and style without altering its scientific content.
6. Authors are expected to comply with all publication ethics and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Publisher Ethics

1. The Publisher is responsible for ensuring that all published articles have undergone editorial evaluation, peer review, copyediting, and production according to the journal's publication standards.
2. The Publisher supports editorial independence and guarantees that editorial decisions are made solely on scientific merit.
3. The Publisher is committed to protecting intellectual property rights, copyright, academic integrity, and the confidentiality of all publication records.

Publication Ethics Principles

Objectivity	Editorial and review decisions must be based solely on scientific merit.
Confidentiality	Information contained in submitted manuscripts must remain confidential.
Fairness	No discrimination shall be made on the basis of nationality, gender, religion, ethnicity, or institutional affiliation.
Originality	Authors must submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
